I first heard about Simon Sinek fat an ISPI Conference. I'd asked a respected Chicago ISPI member if he'd read anything great lately and he said he was taken with Sinek's book, Start With Why. As an aside, one of the things I love most about Chicago ISPI is the relationships I have developed with fellow members. When this member recommended Sinek's book, it went to the top of my Amazon Wish List.

Now that I've read it, I would concur. It's a very good book. So, when I saw that Sinek had written this post (https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/when-we-tell-people-do-jobs-get-workers-trust-job-done-simon-sinek) on LinkedIn, I immediately went to read it.

"When we tell people to do their jobs, we get workers. When we trust people to get the job done, we get leaders."

If you get a chance, read the post. What do you think?  As performance improvement folks, what are things we can do to foster and encourage this?

    Looking forward to your replies.
