If you could wave a magic wand and make Chicago ISPI Downtown Community Meetings perfect, what would that look like to you?
Time of day:
Hi, this is Dan Johnson. I am a performance consultant/executive & team coach/trainer who has resonated with ISPI's approach on desired outcomes and sustained performance improvement for 20 years. I'm also a musician (trumpet) and big fan of Chicago's architecture.
Here are my thoughts:
Time of day:
What's important to me:
Hi Dan - let's pick a date! Library sounds perfect - I can call and reserve a room. Shall we say end of day - like 4 PM? People could leave work a bit early and come, but still get home at a reasonable hour.
I'll throw out a couple dates: Jan 11th, 18th, 20th, 21st, or 28th. Any of those work for you?
Monday or Wednesday is good for me. I could also set up a GotoMeeting session for those who can't travel.
Of Mondays and Wednesdays, Mondays work almost the best for me. I have few other things to compete with on Mondays - usually very quiet for me in that regard.
I'm scheduled pretty tightly in January but could plan around regularly scheduled meetings beginning mid-February. If you set up a date in January, let me know if attending virtually might be an option. If not, I will see folks in February.
Holidays and my mom's surgery got the best of me... Mom is fine and holidays are over, so back to Chicago ISPI!
I contacted the library - 9 people is the max for the free study rooms. We can try that. I contacted Cindy Miller to see if Grant-Thornton would host on a Monday or Wednesday at 4 PM; waiting to hear. If they cannot, I'll schedule something for early Feb and early March at the library and we'll see what happens.
Hi All - We usually have space at Grant Thornton and if we don't, the State of Illinois Building food court is just across the street. I can't imagine the food court would be that busy in the afternoons. Once we have set dates I can look at our reservation system and see what's available. We also have a great new informal gathering space where we could meet also.
What is important to you?
And, maybe most important - tell us about you!
I am a manager in the Learning and Organization Effectiveness group at Grant Thornton. We are going through a transformation right now with a new leader and firmwide culture initiative. My goal is to find a landing spot where I can have an impact on my clients and support them in their roles to be the best that they can be.
Outside of work, I love yoga and cooking and spending time with my family.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone and have great exchanges.
OK - let's just go for it. The food court could work out OK - late in the afternoon we might find a relatively quiet space - and for the first meeting, it's definitely OK. And, if GT has space, works great, too.
I say we go for Feb 1 or Feb 8, then March 7, then April 2, all at 4 PM. We'll see how it works.
Anyone have a preference over Feb 1 or Feb 8?
